Zakana Mushrooms

Zakana Co., Ltd. began in 2010 by father-son duo, Abdul Rahim and Hussain Gilani from Australia. Gilani studied the modern techniques of mushrrom farming methods in Australia over a two year extensie period on hands-on-training. To further learn the art of modern farming practices, Gilani ventured to Ireland for an expertise training course on the new technologies and developments in the production of high quality mushrooms.

Currently, Zakana is the only company in Thailand which can produce superior quality White button, Swiss brown, and Portobello mushrooms all-year round. We pride ourselves on producing not only the freshest and highest quality of mushroom varieties, but also on the close relationships we have built with our clients and suppliers throughout our journey. At Zakana, we emphasize values such as unity, integrity, trust, and cooperation within our team. Ultimately, we believe that our passionate, dedicated and motivated employees are the secret to our success!

Tips

Clean the mushrooms by rubbing the dirt off with a paper towel or rinsing them quickly under running water. Slice, quarter, or mince your mushrooms, as desired or instructed in your recipe.

Nutrition

Mushrooms contribute to the recommended daily intake of several vitamins and minerals. The USDA reports that mushrooms contain high amounts of copper, which is needed to produce blood cells and maintain heart health. Additional nutrients are vitamins C, D and B; and the minerals selenium, iron, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium and zinc. When cooked, most of the nutrient content of mushrooms remains the same, while some nutrients lose between 5 and 20 percent of their value.
